How often should you use a straightening iron on your hair without damaging it?
im 31 and have curly and wavy hair , im growing my hair until it is shoulder length or just past, i have a long way to go yet as my hair is still not long enough, late next year i have calculated it will reach the desired length. my hair grows fast .
i have bought some of the best shampooing stuff their is, extra vitamin shampoo, and hair creme.
so i think i have all the right products for my hair to take care of it.
is their any other products i should buy and use for my hair ? anything im missing out ?
hot oils for my hair ? any special sprays ?
my hair can get very frizzy, and is curly and wavy, i used a hot brush Straightener and it had trouble straitening my hair.
how often should i use a flat iron straightener without damaging my hair ?
and is there any other products i need to buy for my hair other than what i have ?

I straighten my hair everyday. I have wavy, thin hair. It's not damaged at all because I use heat protection...and a good straightener. Try the "Straight Ahead Heat Protection" from John Frieda. It helps straighten your hair while protecting it from flat irons.
And when your done straightening, use a de-frizzing cream to smooth flyaways. Garnier has good one's.

- You have great products already for your hair. I would suggest Frizz ease or another product like that to tame your frizz. Another product I would recommend getting would be a heat protectant for your hair. This will help protect your hair from too much damage while using a blow dryer and/or flat iron. To minimize hair damage, do not straighten everyday. You should also do a deep conditioning treatment everyday.
- You should always use a heat protection spray, Tresseme is a good one, VO5 also have a special hot oil thing that you should treat your hair to every once and a while!!! (you can get it in Boots) Gd Luck!!! :-)
- One thing that really help me was buying the split mender
It didn't cut my length. - Ur hair is exactly like mine and mine is down to my waist. I have to shampoo it ever day (tis a pain!) but u sound like u wouldn't have to do that cos i always wear mine down!
So, to protect ur hair u could use L'Oriel styling creme before u straighten it, and a serum after just to make sure u don't damage it.
I always let my hair dry naturally so it minimises the damage. I know with hair like ours its a nightmare when it drys natural! But trust me, the creme is amazing it will smooth everything out so u can't have a long lasting straight effect.Source(s):
