How can i dye by blonde hair brown, without it going ginger?

Resolved Question

How can i dye by blonde hair brown, without it going ginger?

I have a mousey blonde, coloured hair with a few natural highlights, however i don't like it very much and i'd love a change.
I really want to dye my hair dark brown however, i once did it myself, with a incredibly cheap hairdye from superdrug.. but it went ginger.
How can I dye by blonde hair to brown with out it going evem slighly ginger?
Would having it done proffesionally do the trick?

Never ever dye your hair brown using box chemicals and such after you've dyed your hair blonde. It will turn out green.

If you want to go brown after blonde, then I suggest going to a salon and getting it done.
Your hair will look alot more professional and blend together better.

  • Do Not BLEACH IT AGAIN!! If you bleach it again it is going to cause a bigger problem. If you want a cheaper option than a salon then heres my advice, i am not sure going up in shades will make a difference the blonde is so over powering eventually it will come back through . The best bet is to buy a red/ red brown ( Make sure that its got a red in it they stick better) and then put a brown over it . Thats what i had to do with mine aswell.
I know this as i am currently a level 2 Hairdresser going onto level 3 x

Goodluck , But Please dont bleach it again lol xxx
  • My hairs naturally about the same colour and i use clarrol perect 10 its amazing , its the only perminent dye ive ever used and its never ever gone brassy im in love with it x If you want a semi permenant one the best one i used was actually boots branded one also never went brassy x
  • Doing it professionally will definately help, they won't go wrong. But it you want to do it yourself you will need to do it gradually. So for example go a light brown and then go darker each time.
  • You may not like this but, to get it perfect, you may have to bleech it, then put in the color you want.
