Updos for short hair? pleaseee (picture included)?

ok the my hair is around an inch above shoulder length and i have layers which are about chin length. it is slightly inverted too. i always have it straight curly or wavy and want an updo that i can wear:

My friend has hair similar to yours although shorter. It looks really nice when she does small plats on either side and joins them together at the back. Do you know what I mean? Like hair from the sides plaited and joined at the back so you still have some hair down. Or without the plaits. It's up to you.

Hairbands and clips can look cute too. Hope I helped :)

• what i usually do is when my hair is wavy i just
  grab random pieces of hair and booby pin it up
